Pootle eats Django
Pootle and Mozootle have been merged. Now its time to migrate Pootle onto the Django web framework.
For Django people who have landed here. Pootle is a web localisation tool written in Python while Mozootle is a branch of Pootle developed by Mozilla as part of the Verbatim project. The merge means that all our code is now on trunk and Mozilla, Translate.org.za and other Pootle hackers can all work on the same code base.
With the merge done we begin the next major step to migrate off jToolkit and onto Django. Everyone is really excited about this move as we believe it will make Pootle even more hackable, easier to contribute to and will see many features held back by jToolkit leap into play.
If you are passionate about Pootle, Django or localisation. Then now is a good time to jump in. Visit us on #pootle on freenode.net
