The News - OpenOffice.org
Friday, 21 October 2005

OpenOffice.org 2.0 has been officially released. This new version has been in development for over two years and includes a number of key new features including the new Base database module and support for the internationally recognised OpenDocument format.

This release also includes many new translations from Translate.org.za. Afrikaans, Zulu and Northern Sotho have been updated. While Xhosa, Sotho and Ndebele have been added to OpenOffice.org for the first time. We expect the remaining translations (Venda, Swati and updates to Tswana) to be completed in November.

The traditional bug fix release will appear in November and we are working towards that to add any language fixes. So if you haven't started please install OpenOffice.org in your language and give us feeback about any errors that you identify.
